Milan Chakrabarty, MD, is a board-certified physician specializing in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He currently leads GI-Excellence in Hemet, California, formerly the Hemet Endoscopy Center. Throughout his career, providing high-quality medical care has remained his top priority.


He brings advanced expertise in interventional endoscopy, focusing on preventing, diagnosing, and treating complex conditions like Barrett's Esophagus, Biliary Disease, pancreatic cysts, gastrointestinal bleeding, and gastrointestinal cancers. His skills and knowledge are highly respected and sought after by regional hospitals.


He is the first G.I. specialist in Southern California's Inland Empire, a region that includes San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. He established his practice over 43 years ago, and together with his team, he has prioritized compassionate patient care. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, offering a level of care unmatched by other ambulatory surgical centers in the region.

The Passion for Medicine Runs Deep

His passion for medicine was instilled in him from a young age. Born in Kolkata and raised in Mumbai, India, he comes from a family deeply rooted in the medical profession. His father, grandfather, and three uncles were all family physicians, which inspired him to pursue a career in medicine. As a child, he frequently assisted his father in his medical practice, while his mother played a significant role in his education, tutoring him at home.

Milan Chakrabarty MD's Medical Education

Milan Chakrabarty, MD, received his medical education at Grand Medical School College, Mumbai University, where he earned his M.B.B.S., the equivalent of an M.D. He completed his medical internship at J.J. Group of Hospitals, under Mumbai University. He then completed his residency at St. George Hospital in Mumbai, with additional subspecialty rotations at G.T. Hospital, Mumbai.


Following his residency, he moved to England, where he worked in Internal Medicine at Mount Pleasant Hospital, Cardiff University in Swansea, South Wales, for three years.

From the United Kingdom to the United States

After his time in Swansea, South Wales, he and his wife and two children moved to the United States. He served as a Resident Physician at the Metropolitan Jewish Medical Center in Coney Island, New York. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at St. Clare's Hospital & Health Center in Manhattan.


He then pursued a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center and Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Move Out West

In the early 1980s, Milan Chakrabarty, MD, relocated to Hemet, California, where he founded the G.I. Department at Hemet Valley Medical Center. 1982, he became Sun City, California's first hospice medical director.


In 1992, he established the Hemet Endoscopy Center and, a year later, founded the Hemacinto Medical Group. In 2004, he built new medical and state-of-the-art surgery centers.


He is affiliated with professional organizations, including the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has also co-authored the study "Determination of Circulating D.N.A. Levels in Patients with Benign or Malignant Gastrointestinal Disease, Cancer."


He has shared his expertise through seminars, including presentations at the Hemet Daze Community Health Education and Screening Fair on "Colon Cancer Awareness." Additionally, he has been a guest speaker at the Hemet Rotary Club, where he discussed bowel cancer and ways to maintain intestinal health.

A Family Tradition of Physicians and Promoting Healthy Living Continues

Milan Chakrabarty, MD, has been married to his wife, Manjushree, for 52 years. They have three sons, two of whom are physicians. His eldest son is an Internist, and his second son, trained at Boston University and Lahey Clinic, practices in Temecula, California, as the only Advanced Interventional Gastroenterologist in the Inland Empire, California. He and his youngest son co-founded the wellness carbonated beverage "T.U.R.V.E.D.A.," a product rooted in Ayurvedic medicine designed to improve digestive health and boost immunity. The drink provides nearly 20% of the recommended fiber and is free of the sugar and citric acid in traditional sodas.


The team behind T.U.R.V.E.D.A. includes leading gastroenterologists and pioneers in gut microbiome wellness. Their expertise spans digestive health, prebiotic, probiotic, and postbiotic diets, optimal gut health, and nutrition plans that enhance the gut microbiome. Enjoying Down Time

Milan S. Chakrabarty, MD, is passionate about collecting European antiques, sculptures, and paintings. His collection is proudly displayed in and around the offices of G.I. Excellence. In addition to his professional interests, he enjoys cars and stamp collections, photography, traveling, and boating. He has also recently taken up painting.
